Holiday weekend

Bank holiday weekend, you got to love 'em, normally characterised by bad weather, hopefully this one will be better. For those off you at a loose end, you might want to try a super model vacation.

Sex and drugs

The hollyword police department helpfully chronicle the effects of drugs and prostitution. reminds me of the quote from spinal tap, when the drummer says,

'as long as there's, you know, sex and drugs, I can do without the rock and roll'.

my little tony

I've been briefly amusing myself asking tony blair's alter ego a few questions, i quickly got bored and told him to take a hike, he replied

'Is that you again, Euan? I thought I told you, if you want to make an appointment to see me, talk to Alastair!!!'

Cheggars plays pop

Always up to date, I finally decided to have a look at Keith Chegwin's new hit online TV website last monday. Imagine my surprise when greeted with the above message!

Cheggar's PR machine siezed the opportunity for some publicity, and various reports alledged that the site had been a victim of the chinese/american hacking war. apparently though, the message is infact the result of the Unix/Sadmind worm, and a patch to fix that has has been available since 1999...still I blame those pesky chinese.

The internet is shit

Renowned internet research company Forrester have finally come out and said what most of us have been thinking,

'The problem with today's Internet is that it's dumb, boring, and isolated'

and that's not just this site. They go on to claim that the future will see an executable Net which will be downloadable to loads of every day devices (your fridge for instance) as and when you want to use it. read more at the register...

I put a spell on you

I saw TV progam on Screaming Jay Hawkin's kids the other night. A documentary on the search for all the kids that he reckoned he had fathered (about 75), it was interesting to see the initial denial of the oldest child (now over 50), which gradually changed to acceptance when she met with other siblings who bore undoubted physical resemblance despite different mothers. Oh and the irony, when he died he left his estate to his ex-wife that he never had any kids with...

Swingers

Well now i've always been a fan of innovative web based commerce, and these guys have obviously done their research, spotted a niche in the market and gone for it.

William idle

I've always been into music, i started my record collection relatively early in life, but when cd's came along, i resisted the urge to be a vinyl junkie and jumped right into building a cd collection. for the first few years, vinyl and cd's existed side by side, but moving around, i ended up storing my vinyl and just buying cd's. of course this meant that some records i bought as a teenager, i've not really listened to since. and so while looking through some of the latest cd releases, i noticed a billy idol greatest hits collection, now i'm not really a greatest hits person, but i look down the track listing and cringed with embarassment as i realised i could sing half the songs and hum the other half. this prompted the realisation that i probably still had a couple billy idol LPs stored away somewhere. so i confess i couldn't resist and billy idol's greatest hits is the latest edition to my cd collection, and when i played it, i was briefly thirteen again.

Potty training

Being of a certain age, one thing you notice is your friends start to produce offspring, and today i saw in time out a t-shirt that i got to buy for a few toddlers.

Sir Psycho Sexy

I've had my share of bunny boilers in the past, the best was probably my first serious girlfriend, who after we split up, broke into my house and left a letter on my pillow. i think this was supposed to be an attempt at getting me back, but ended up scaring me shitless...

Furrymania

I am, in my best estuary english, a bit gutted today. The reason? well the rather splendid super furry animals are releasing their new album ‘Rings Around The World’ in July simultaneously on DVD, complete with 5.1 Surround Sound and twelve different films exclusive to the DVD. The filmmakers include Martin McCarthy, Darren Watkins, Sean Hillen, Pete Fowler, Dylan Jones, Neil McFarlane, Peter Gray, the Dogme collective, 4K, Fukme99 and The Ministry Of Truth. The DVD also has remixes of each track as well as bonus tracks and films. The films are being shown on friday 29th June @ Notting Hill Electric Cinema, and the bastard is sold out!

but I do have tickets for the gig the following night...

Pinch, punch, first day of the month

Seems like the playground bullies who used to take inordinate pleasure in recounting the above rhyme before adminstering the requisite dead leg or arm have now grown up to be anti-capitalist protesters, 1st of May hey! lets take to the streets of London and break stuff use direct action...hhhmmm, anyway i was handed a leaflet today by the clapham branch of the world socialist movement which stated that indeed modern life is rubbish, but unfortunately didn't really offer too many viable options, so perhaps we should have an annual day when we can legally just go out and punch other people and break stuff. An election promise anyone?
