Married!

Now on a well earned honeymoon, back to domestic bliss on the 2nd October...

Genetically programmed?

I am about to embark on a long journey of monogamy, whether that is natural for a man or not I don't know, but I guess its a concious decision. There are scientists that believe infidelity is a genetic mechanism for creation of healthy children, but this point is normally argued from the male perspective. Now it seems, some scientists believe that infidelity is genetic for women.

I suppose it could make for some good chat up lines...

Have you heard

I like the idea of documenting overheard conversations on a web page, overhearing and documenting your neighbours on the job is taking it a little bit further. I suspect if you're not careful, you could end up going a bit loopy like Gene Hackman's character in Francis Ford Coppola's The Conversation.

Trouser snake

In Being John Malkovich, John Cusack plays a struggling puppeteer who discovers a portal blah blah blah. A great film, absolutely loved it, but I can't help wondering what twists the script would have taken if had been a different kind of puppeteer.

Cam it up

After a week or so of procrastinating, I finally got round to putting up some of the pictures taken with my brand spanking new webcam thing. Ok fairly unimpressive I know, but it's probably going to take me a bit longer to get round to working out how I can bore everyone solid with 30 second refreshes of my mug.

Mix it up

Sweden, suppose to be a nice place, bit boring, high standard of living, and I seem to remember this odd statistic - it has the highest rate of suicide in Europe. Anyway, they can also make cows dance.

Integrate innovative synergies

Again, a case of small things pleasing small minds but the web economy bullshit generator is fun and I think I might just start using it in my working life.

I mean if you ask me its time to aggregate cross-platform channels...

Subliminal

I thought that the use of subliminal advertising was banned, but apparently a commercial produced for the Bush campaign in the USA includes the appearance of the word RATS for a split second before the word "bureaucrats".

Why 'rats', why not 'vote for me now white american trailor trash'?

There is more than one answer on the path to knowledge my friends, why not have a bash at finding the answers?

Television, drug of the Nation

A personal video recorder like TiVo lets you, the punter, decide what to watch and when - hey fantastic! but of course they watch every move you make. So is it a good thing? Like most things, I'm only prepared to let them have this information about me if I get something really good in return. Something good, hhmmm, I know - money!

So I won't be getting one, til they give 'em away and pay me to use it.

Bear Market

You may have seen that Philip Kaplan, the founder of the site fuckedcompany.com, put it up for sale on eBay yesterday.

Personally my money is on Mr. Rob Manuel of tsluts.com and his sale

Mission Impossible

Part of my job is to help and advise people on their internet strategy and as such over the last weeks have been helping some individuals striving to join the dotcom world (ahem) on formulating their mission statement.

The Stag Rocks

I made it through the stag night without too much incident, although I will admit to being very very drunk, but obviously not as drunk as the girl who, unprovoked, decided to pour a drink over my head in the casablanca

but a wierd sensation attending your own stag night, after trawling along to everybody elses, nevertheless the countdown really begins now.

Why not share and promote my love of e-commerce by purchasing one of the remaining articles left on my wedding list?

Stag

Ok, I'm ready...it's time for my stag night, I'm off to Brighton tomorrow and staying at the cool Hotel Pellirocco.

I'm looking forward to, no doubt, hilarious fun provided by my friends, whose only concerned will be for my well being.

Back to School

Got a phone call yesterday from my old professor at Canterbury Business School, he asked me if I would write a module for their new Master's in E-Commerce. I can't do it, I don't think anyone has mastered e-commerce.

but it's not on moral grounds I refused, it had to be done by the end of the month.

Symbolic

I remember my friend Dave King telling me years ago that the poster for the La Femme Nikita was using phallic imagery. It was something he had manage to 'learn' while at University. Seemed pretty obvious to me, I mean you don't need a degree to spot a phallic symbol.

Although I not sure what you need to avoid being beaten by phallic symbols.

Berlin

I went to Berlin yesterday for work, as usual with these kind of things didn't get to see much of the city, but one comment my colleague made, as we travelled through the city by taxi, was he expected to see much more old buildings.

We later read that Berlin had suffered 92% bombing during the war. I don't want to get into a debate about the morality of bombing, but it was a figure that just brought home the devastation that must of have occured.

Spermacidal Maniac

Forget the forthcoming olympics, the real battle for supremacy is on at the Sperm Race.

'Visitors will have the opportunity to submit a semen sample at the container laboratory and to have the quality of their sperm tested. Magnitudes such as motility, sperm count, and pH value will be measured by means of CASA (Computer Assisted Sperm Analysis)'

Computer Assisted Sperm Analysis - rolls of the tongue doesn't it? I wonder who were the backend team for that project?

Fat is a Feminist Issue

My mate Dave Clark always insisted that 'fat girls come a lot', and was near jubilant when he claimed to have seen a film where a bloke on his death bed uttered those immortal words to his son. Can't remember the name of the film, nor can I claim to have seen it, but Dave is now have been on par with a Nobel prize-winning geneticist, who was jointly responsible for discovering the structure of DNA. He believes that plumper women are also likely to enjoy a better sex life than their thin counterparts.

Cheese

The alarming news at fat skier is I've just taken delivery of a webcam, which means that I'll spend most of this weekend swearing and losing my temper as I try and figure it out. The obvious benefit is when I can't think of anything to write, I can just put up some mug shot for general amusement.

Think of a football injury...you'll probably come up with gazza's cruciate ligament, or my personal favourite a groin strain. You are unlikely to think Necrotizing Faciitis.
